There are a few MLB superstars who are still waiting for a contract in free agency.

After the first few stars went off the board, there has not been much happening of late.

But there are still multiple-time All-Star and season-long award winners looking for a new contract.

One player looking to set the market at his position is former San Diego Padres closer Josh Hader.

According to Jim Bowden via B/R Walk-Off, Hader is looking for a deal bigger than the one Edwin Diaz received.

Diaz’s deal was for five years and $102 million.

Hader thinks he is worthy of surpassing that number.

But, many fans are skeptical of giving Hader a big deal.

Last season, he stated that he did not want to pitch more than one inning a game.

Also, pitching back-to-back days was something that Hader was against.

Maybe with a fresh new long-term deal, those restrictions will go away.

But, it is still something teams need to be wary about.

Many people think Hader is asking for way too much money with this contract.

But, desperate teams may be willing to pay up for him.

Yet, not every fan is against Hader getting a massive deal.

Some think he is deserving of big money.

Last season, he was elite for the Padres.

He threw 56.1 innings to an ERA of 1.28.

Also, he recorded 33 saves.

Hader will be entering his age-30 season next year but he has shown to be worth a significant payday this offseason.
